Our top tips can be a great help during treatments and have been recommended by clinical expert Anita Clarkson.

• Glide Mode

If you want to save time when treating larger areas, use the ‘Glide Mode’. Place the handset on the skin, hold down the activation button (press down continuously), then glide the handset along the skin between flashes. Try to move the handset at a steady speed that gives full coverage without overlap or missed areas

• Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the best way to remove any dead skin and allow for better absorption of the light. Make sure to exfoliate before treatments to get the silky smooth skin you desire and to have a more effective hair removal experience.

• Moisturisation

Your skin is delicate and so keeping it hydrated is important. It is best to moisturise daily to keep your skin soft and supple.

• Treating Tricky Areas

Stamp Mode is recommended for small areas such as the underarm and face. To activate Stamp Mode place the handset on the skin then press & release the activation button. Remove from the skin before carefully re-applying to the next treatment area. It is best to use ‘Stamp mode’ to treat these areas so you can gently place the handset from one area to another.

• Gentle Mode

If you find the treatment uncomfortable or a little too painful, pressing the ‘Gentle Mode’ button will reduce the power output. Press the Gentle Mode button once and it will illuminate white to indicate it is activated. You will notice less Power Bar indicators illuminated when applied to your skin.

• Patch Test

Before your first treatment on each new body area, we recommend you test your skin for a reaction to SmoothSkin Gold.

• To mask delicate areas

To protect delicate areas such as the upper lip during treatments, use a piece of white card.

• Monthly maintenance

After completing the 12 week treatment regime, we advise treating once every month to keep your skin continuously hair free.

• Cleaning

To ensure maximum performance of your SmoothSkin Gold, it is particularly important to keep the Treatment Window Reflector free from dirt, hair or other debris. To help in the cleaning of this part, the front section is removable from the Handset. Once removed, it can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Always ensure the Removable Front is completely dry before re-fitting to the Handset. Never use water or other cleaning fluids, as these can damage the device and cause a safety hazard.

• SPF

We advise that you ensure you are wearing a sun protection (UV) cream after treatments.
